I have always loved spending hours in thrift stores and swap meets searching for cool and rare finds. Mostly oceanic art and vintage Hawaiiana and South Pacific art and products. The Tiki Mug is always high on my wish list when we are searching. I had so much fun painting this rendition of the iconic tiki mug and putting a little of my own style and spin to it.

Heather Brown paints the Iconic Anahulu Bridge (Rainbow Bridge) in Haleiwa, North Shore Oahu, Hawai'i

Here is a piece I painted for a recent group exhibition at The Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa on the beautiful North Shore of Oahu!
The group show focused on the iconic Anahulu Bridge in Haleiwa. The Anahulu Bridge is often referred to as "Rainbow Bridge" and for many it has been the gateway to the Country, a gateway to some of the largest surf int he world or just a fun place to jump in the river from on a hot summer afternoon. My piece "Rainbow Bridge" is now available as a giclee on canvas, paper and wood print as well as trucker hat!

Wind N Sea by Heather Brown

I just heard that the shack at Wind N Sea is gone from this winters swells. Wind N Sea with the shack on the rocks always epitomized the classic days of surfing to me. Anybody know if a new one will be put back up?

I hope everyone is having a great week so far and getting ready for a beautiful weekend ahead! We have been busy back home on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii building a new studio right off the beach at pipeline! I have also been doing some shows and signings since being back home and it is always so nice to show art here and meet people from all over the world and see so many of our brave military men and women that are stationed here come out to the shows.

Last weekend I had a show at The Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa (this is where I held my first art show) and released a new Limited Edition Giclee on canvas as well as 4 new Open Edition Canvasses as part of a new Hawai'i Botanical Series that I am working on. The Limited Edition is "Daydream Sea" Spending time watching the many moods of the ocean has always been one of my favorite pastimes. The ocean lets you clear your mind of everything else and let the daydreaming begin. Inspired by watching the trade wind swells of the east side and north shore of Oahu. While not always the best surfing waves, the waves and wind create such a special feeling both internally and externally.

I also released 4 new pieces that are the start of a new Hawaiian Botanical Series that I am working on. Hawai'i has always held such a special place in my heart not only for the great waves, weather, people and food but also for the flowers and fauna that surround us everywhere we go. I wanted to pay a special tribute to some of my favorite botanicals and create a nice series that could go all together or separate.

As some of you may know, this past year I teamed up with Elan snowboards to create a limited edition line of boards with my art on them for the 2014-2015 season. I am so happy with them and apparently lots of you liked them too as they are almost completely sold out already for the season!

I am excited to announce that for the 2015-2016 season, we have teamed up again to create 4 new boards this time!!

Aloha and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou (Happy New Year)!!

Can you believe it is already 2014!!! Wow, 2013 was a blur but I had such a great year with lots of shows, travel and fun times with family and friends, I am looking forward to an even greater 2014 and hope you are too!

Thanks to the staff at The Wyland Gallery in Waikiki and everyone who came out to my show there on the 30th! I had a great time and the show was a great sold out success! Mahalo Nui Loa!!

I released two new Limited Edition pieces at the show and they are now available for purchase.

The first is the sister piece to "North Shore Rainbow" that I released just about a month ago, this one is titled "South Shore Rainbow" (I know, I am not the best at naming pieces! ha ha)

My second release from the show is "Midnight in Waikiki" I always love painting in these deep dark hues and contrasting with brighter highlights. I painted this piece a while back for our house so it has been hanging on our walls for a few months and I really like the feeling it gives me when I pass by it and my eye catches the bright birds or later in the day as you could feel the moods changing with the changing afternoon light.

Aloha and Happy Winter!! Today is officially the first day of Winter which means tomorrow the days start to get longer again!!

I hope that everyone is enjoying a pleasant Holiday Season, we have been having a lot of fun and been busy getting orders out around the World, so I think there will be a lot of Aloha under the Christmas Trees in the next few days!

I just released a few new Limited Edition Giclees on canvas and a new Open Edition on canvas at this past weekends Annual Surf Art Show on The North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

They are now available online, but please note: Giclees take 3-5 weeks for delivery from order date, so these would not make it in time for Christmas.


"Hawaiian Flowers" is an Open Edition Giclee on Stretched canvas.  Hawaii Flowers comes in one size (the size of the original piece) 16"x20"
"Hawaiian Flowers" is a piece that was inspired a couple of weeks ago when The Captain and I had a picnic lunch at one of our favorite little spots. This is the vision I kept from that day and I started painting it as soon as we got back to the studio.

 Rainbows are a way of life almost every day here on The North Shore of Oahu, and this one was inspired by an afternoon at Backdoor Pipeline early in the 2013 surf season when it seemed as Hawai'i was putting on a show for all of us that were lucky enough to be present at the time. This whole December has felt similar to this day, sharing our postcard moments with the rest of the world that populates the seven mile miracle each Triple Crown of Surfing Season. This is the beauty we stand up for each and everyday so that future generations can enjoy more of the same.

As some of you may know, I have been designing a line for Rip Curl, "Heather Brown for Rip Curl" for about 6 years now. Each year I paint 4-6 new pieces to be used in making the line. "Surf Sisters" was originally commissioned by Rip Curl to be featured on Spring/Summer 2014 products.

I am so excited to announce my new collaboration project with ELAN Ski and Snowboard Company!
I have been working on this project for the past 6+months and am happy to finally be able to share with you!
The new board collection will be available for the 2014/2015 snow season, I have had a chance to see the actual boards (sorry can't show you yet...but soon!) and they are so beautiful, I can;t wait to ride them!!!
