Two New Matted Prints Just Released by Heather Brown

This past weekend at the 2011 Haleiwa Arts Festival, I released 2 new matted prints to the collection!

The first one was a special piece that I did in working up to the Haleiwa Arts Festival and the Hawai'i Canoe Season. The piece is called "Haleiwa Wa'a" The original is a 24x36 and is currently available in the Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa. Here is a shot of "Haleiwa Wa'a"

The second release was of the ever popular "Ku'uipo's" I originally painted this piece for my then boyfriend, now husband Chris and the original hangs proudly in our home. I released the limited edition giclees and artist proofs and the edition of 100 plus the 10 AP's sold out in less than 10 months! As there are no more limited edition giclees on canvas, I have decided to release "Ku'uipo's" for a limited time as a matted print. This is a shot of Ku'uipos (Hawaiian for Sweethearts)

New Heather Brown Exclusives for The Wyland Gallery!

I was asked a few months ago to create two special pieces for The Wyland Gallery here on Oahu that would be an exclusive release in very limited sizes. My normal limited edition giclees come in editions of 100 with 10 additional Hand Highlighted Artist Proofs. These new editions exclusive to The Wyland Gallery are only edition sizes of 25 with 5 hand highlighted Artist Proofs!

I created the first one with Waikiki in mind and the beauty of the summer surf season in Town. I named this piece "Waikiki Surf Girl"
I then went on to create a piece that really says North Shore, so I used the iconic Waimea Church Temple in the background of a nice little barrel. This piece is named "Waimea Shorebreak"

Both of the originals are sold already but there are still some AP's and Limited edition giclees left so please contact The Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa, Waikiki, Lake Tahoe, Maui or Las Vegas to get your hands on one before this very small exclusive limited edition is sold out.

Surf Art Line High Tide Introduces New Ladies Tees by Heather Brown

First off, thank you so much for the overwhelming response to the original art for the Japan Earthquake/Tsunami relief. Sorry to anyone who was not able to get it, it sold in the first 15 minutes! There will be more, I promise!

The newest High Tide Tees are in for the ladies! There are 2 new designs in a few different colors. I chose my favorite blank tee in the world to print them on and since we finished them, I have been wearing one constantly! They are all 100% cotton printed with all water based inks which give the print a feel like it is not even there.

New Limited Edition Silkscreen Print Released "Namotu" by Heather Brown

Aloha All!

I know I have been slack about posting, but we were on our 3 week honeymoon in the Maldives, and the surf was too much fun! We are now back and right back in action, just before I left I finished this edition of silkscreen prints called "Namotu"

Last year Chris and I were fortunate enough to spend a few weeks on Namotu Island in Fiji. We surfed fun waves everyday in warm tropical waters with fish jumping all around and had the best time, not too mention how great the crew on Namotu was too!

I gained so much inspiration from that trip and it came out in many paintings that I have done since. I was also really inspired to create a simple silkscreen image to capture my feeling of the trip, this is what I came up with. I hope you all like it! The edition size is limited to only 50 standard limited edition prints and 8 Hand Highlighted Artist Proof prints. They are also available in 100% reclaimed wooden frames made right here in my studio on the North Shore of Oahu using reclaimed wood from old North Shore beach homes that have been torn down.

New Heather Brown Surf Art Yoga Pants Now Available!

Aloha everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season! We are, the weather has been beautiful and we just got back from the finals of the 2010 Billabong Pipeline Masters. Congrats to Jeremy Flores on his win!

I just received my Yoga Pants from our printers and they look great and feel even better! They are made of 100% organic cotton and printed with water based inks. Green With Aloha!

Annual Artists of The Triple Crown of Surfing Show

Good Morning!
Big Mahalo's to all who made it out for the Annual Artists of the Triple Crown of Surfing show last night at the Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa! If you were not able to be there in person, I have a few pictures from it here, it was a really fun night and it is always great to see such talented artists showcasing the best in Surf Art.
Now it is time to enjoy the rest of the holiday season as I have no shows scheduled for the rest of the month!

The 2010 Reef Haleiwa Pro!

Well yesterday Chris and I snuck off for a bit to go see the 2010 Reef Haleiwa Pro day 3. Our great friend Skil Johnson hooked us up with some great VIP seating and we watched some unbelievable heats including Joel Parkinson's first heat back in competition since his nasty ankle injury, and he scored 1 perfect 10 followed by a 9.87 to win the heat with another favorite surfer of ours from Kauai finishing second to get through to the next round, Evan Valliere. We also got to watch Occy in his heat. It was fun and exciting and probably the last day of good weather for a few days!
Here are a few pictures from the day, I even got to take a picture with Rabbit Kekai! A true Hawaiian Legend. Mahalo to Reef, Haleiwa and Mr Haleiwa, Skil Johnson for a great day!

Great Weekend......Rainy week so far!

Good Morning Rain!

Well we are getting some much needed rain here on the North Shore so the plants and flowers are so happy! We had such a beautiful weekend too so Chris and I ventured down to Ali'i Beach Park in Haleiwa for the Annual Menehune Surf Contest. SO cool to see kids from 3-12 surfing, competing and having a great time. I donated some of my surf art prints for prizes and I hope the kids love them! Thanks to Skill Johnson and the whole crew who work tirelessly to put such a great even together.

The North Shore winter is in the air...

As I was driving back home this morning after having breakfast with one of my good friends, I couldn't help but notice that the seasons are definitely changing and the North Shore winter has come upon us. The big swells are starting to roll in and the calm flat days of summer have come to an end. When the waves get so big, the ocean mist from the waves breaking fills the air and there is white ocean mist everywhere hovering around the town, you can smell the ocean in the air, and feel the energy from the sea. The north shore winter is in the air...
