Happy to have showed art last night at The Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa on the beautiful North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii for the 11th Annual Surf Art Show! This was my 11th year in a row participating and it always feels like a fun homecoming holiday party with loads of great art from so many fun ocean inspired artists and the best fans and collectors in the world!
I have been so busy with touring and shows, that I only painted 3 new originals for the show, as seen below.

So excited to have a show tomorrow, Saturday November 12, 2016 from 3-6 pm, at The Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa located in the North Shore marketplace in historic Haleiwa Town!
I will be releasing a couple of new pieces as well as bringing lots of new original art created for the show! As always, shows are FREE to come and enjoy, if you have had your eyes on some art, this could be the perfect day to scoop it up! Hawai'i artist Heather Brown releases 2 new pieces at The Wyland Gallery Waikiki

Aloha Everyone and Happy Monday!!

What a whirlwind of the past 2 weeks, 2 shows and a little summer time cold!
This past weekend I had a show at The Wyland Gallery in Waikiki. Mahalo nui loa to everyone who came out to my show and of course to the great and hard working art consultants at The Wyland Gallery Beachwalk!

The first release from this weekend is "Royal Hawaiian"I have been wanting to paint a piece with the iconic Royal Hawaiian for years now and finally gathered the nerves to attempt it. The original is 24x36 (Sold at the show) and took me about 2 weeks to complete with all of the detail. I'm really happy with how it came out and the vibe it portrays. When asked to summarize Royal Hawaiian recently this was my response. 

"Growing up in Southern California, dreams of Hawai'i always stirred iconic images like Diamond Head, The Duke Statue and of course "The Pink Palace of the Pacific" The Royal Hawaiian Hotel with its pink stucco and Spanish style architecture was where I would see pictures of all the old time movie stars, the old Waikiki beach boys and the tourists enjoying the perfect south shore days. I still love to spend time in Waikiki shooting photo's and exploring the rich history of this very special beach town in the middle of the Pacific and a little stay-cation at The Royal Hawaiian is always an extra large treat!"

Royal Hawaiian is available as a limited edition signed and numbered giclee on canvas in an edition of only 250 worldwide as well as a hand highlighted giclee on canvas edition of only 25 at any of the galleries that support my art or HERE 

It is also available as a matted print on recycled sugar cane paper HERE as well as a print on wood HERE

The second release this weekend is titled "A Day in Paradise" 

Every surfer knows that waves come and go, good days, bad days, great days and all the days in between. A Day in Paradise depicts that moment that you get your first glimpse of your favorite North Shore break and everything is PERFECT!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! It has been a rainy one here on Oahu, but not too much wind and fun waves have definitely made up for the rain!

So happy that last night I was asked to do a solo show at The Wyland Gallery in Waikiki and I decided over the past month or so that I was going to release a brand new series of art for the show called "The Daydream Series" heavily inspired by a piece I created this summer called "Daydream Surf" When I started touring shortly after its release, I noticed how happy it made people, and how so many people mentioned it's calming effects on them. I absolutely love Daydream Sea and the feel of the piece as well, so I wanted to make a full series to compliment each other. Here are the pieces I created for the new Daydream Series, each one is available as a limited edition giclee on stretched canvas with the option of reclaimed wood frames custom built on the North Shore as well!
The originals for the Daydream Series all sold last night, but the reproductions are now available on my website HeatherBrownArt.com as well as being available at the galleries worldwide that support my art.

A HUGE MAHALO to everyone who came out to my show last night to get new art, check out the new series and just share good times and lots of ALOHA!

And I could never be living this life and having the freedom to create the art that I want to each day without my extremely tight and strong support system. Mahalo to my fine art publisher Black Sand Publishing in Honolulu for all the hustle in getting giclees ready so quickly for my shows and galleries! ALSO!!!! I will be participating with a group of rad artists next Saturday, November 28, 2015 at The WYland Gallery Haleiwa's annual Surf Art Show! Come on by, see some new art by great local artists and have some fun on the North Shore! I will be releasing 2 brand new published pieces and really excited to show one of my brand new Pipeline pieces!! Hope to see you there!

Upcoming Heather Brown Art Shows

I wanted to let you all know about some upcoming events that I will be taking part in.

First, this Saturday September 5, 2015 I will be having a book and art signing event at The Wyland Gallery in The North Shore Marketplace in historic Haleiwa Town on Oahu's beautiful North Shore from 2-5 pm!

The following Saturday, September 12,  I am honored to be the featured artist for the Honolulu Zoo "Keiki in the Kitchen" event as part of the 2015 Hawai'i Food and Wine Festival at The Honolulu Zoo. The event takes place between 9 am and 4:30 pm and I will be at my booth from 11am to 3pm for art signings and to say ALOHA!!

I have been so busy this summer that it has been extra tough to try and keep up with my blog here, but I have compiled some photos from my last two shows here on Oahu this July.

This past weekend I took part in the annual Haleiwa Arts Festival for my 11th year in a row! I love doing this event as it is so fun to connect with everyone from our community and the people that travel from around the world to attend. With over 100 artist, entertainment, ono food and fun, its a great 2 days on the North Shore of Oahu!

The artist Wyland has not only been a major supporter of my art and friend for the past 12+ years but he is also one of the people I really admire. He has dedicated his life to his art and to help conserve and protect the Worlds Oceans, bays, waterways. He is a true inspiration and I am so happy every time I get to connect with him face to face. He came over to my booth and picked up one of my Limited Edition Books and I was just about floored thinking that this will be in his home!

Stanley from Matsumoto's not only makes the worlds best shave ice right in Haleiwa town, he is also one of the friendliest people around. He always shares a smile, good conversation and if you are lucky some great treats! I was honored when Matsumoto's asked me to make some designs a few years back for their anniversary and I always love seeing him, his family and getting some ono shave ice!
