3 New Limited Edition Giclees Just Released by Hawai'i Artist Heather Brown

Aloha Everyone!

What a fun week!! We got to see The Shins last night in Honolulu and will be going to see Jack Johnson, Paula Fuga and John Cruz on Sunday night at The Hawai'i Theatre!!

Also This week, I have just released 3 Brand New Limited Edition Giclee's (edition size is only 100 with 10 additional Hand Highlighted Artist Proofs)

Clicking on any of the images below will take you directly to my website where you can see all of the limited edition giclees, sizes and prices.

The first is "Sunset at Sunset" After watching a big evening of surf at the world famous Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawai'i, i got back home and starting painting this immediately from what my feeling was watching the massive swell lines hit the beach. The original wandered around for a few months with an exhibition of my art and when it returned to me, Chris and I both looked at it and thought that it was too beautiful not to be released because we wanted one for our own home (and the original had already sold) so I finally released it this week and am so happy with how it has come out.

The second release this week is a piece that I have been wrestling with in my head for the past 5 years! The view, the feeling, the beauty of Lanikai Beach on the East Side of Oahu in Hawai'i is one that has been photographed almost as much as Diamond Head, painted, mosaiced, you name it and it was so tough to figure out how I could really put my view to the canvas on this one. I have started this painting probably about 15 times in the past 5 years and I always end up unhappy with it and paint over it with something else. A few months ago I was asked to license out some of my art for a new restaurant operated by Aloha Table in Japan named "Kailua Weekend" I originally was just going to license some previous work, but this seemed to motivate me more than ever before to work on this painting to convey my feelings when I am on the beach looking out at The Mokes from Lanikai. I was really pleased with how it came out and the original has been hanging in my studio for the past 5 months so we have really enjoyed having it here and I think it really conveys the peacefulness of that area.

And the third new release this week is a piece called "Flowers of Hawai'i"
Every year in Odaiba Japan they put on a 10 day long Hawaii Festival (the largest in the world) and this year I was asked to make the art for the festival and have The Heather Brown Gallery set up a mini gallery at the festival for the 10 days! We had gone back and forth with some different ideas, with the main theme being "coming together" all types of people, ages, sex, color coming together to bond through what has been an extremely tough last year in Japan. I though that this was so symbolic to show so many different flowers all together and all sharing the resources around them. I am honored to be asked to produce this art and when the original was done, there was no question in my mind that this was to be a published piece because I really think there is no person out there that will not smile when they lay their eyes on the beautiful scenery of the most beautiful place on Earth!
