The Banzai Pipeline is so much to so many people. To many it is the most dangerous wave in the world. To some lucky groms, it is their after school playground. To the pros and up in coming pros it is known as the proving ground. To me it is a place with many faces. Spending years of my life living on the beach at off the wall and rockpiles, I have spent many hours mesmerized by the beauty of the Pacific as it graces the beach on the famous seven mile miracle of the North Shore of Oahu. Flat days diving the reef in the summer, small days sliding into a few lucky ones at Ehukai and Gums, stormy days rolling around int he shore break when nobody is around. And it also happens to be the site of my first date ever with my now husband 10 years ago. Needless to say, its a very special place to many and I always love to paint it. I originally painted this piece of Pipeline, titled Pipeline, in 2007/2008 while living in a small Ohana unit on the beach about 100 yards from this scene.

Heather Brown has been a strong supporter of the Vans Triple Crown, Hawaiian Pro and Billabong Pipe Masters surf events for many years.  Living on the North Shore in Haleiwa, in the middle of the surf community, has inspired Heather to create surf-related art for people and for surf event sponsors.  Her iconic tropical surf art has captivated people for many years, and her unique style of painting surf and shore scenes is distinctly captivating and happy.

Heather Brown Releases New Green with Aloha Wave Art Tote Bag

In 2009 my husband Chris and I started Green with Aloha, a line of durable and useable goods meant to help people get away from the normal habits of very common disposable items (mostly plastic). We started with 1 tote bag design and 1 water bottle design. Since 2009 we have made 6 different tote bag designs, 4 water bottles and 3 different re-usable travel coffee mugs.
Well today, I am so HAPPY to unveil our newest tote bag!

Made of 100% recycled cotton and printed with water based ink in the USA! double sided prints with reinforced straps for years of heavy use. FYI: We are STILL using our first bags from 2009 for all of our grocery and market shopping! A bit stained and washed many many times over the years, but still looking nice and holding up great!

 Very soon after, I created the rainbow bridge tote showing the famous Haleiwa bridge over the Anahulu stream. Every surfer who has ever been lucky enough to come to Oahu's beautiful North Shore knows this sight well.

Hawai'i artist Heather Brown releases 2 new pieces at The Wyland Gallery Waikiki

Aloha Everyone and Happy Monday!!

What a whirlwind of the past 2 weeks, 2 shows and a little summer time cold!
This past weekend I had a show at The Wyland Gallery in Waikiki. Mahalo nui loa to everyone who came out to my show and of course to the great and hard working art consultants at The Wyland Gallery Beachwalk!

The first release from this weekend is "Royal Hawaiian"I have been wanting to paint a piece with the iconic Royal Hawaiian for years now and finally gathered the nerves to attempt it. The original is 24x36 (Sold at the show) and took me about 2 weeks to complete with all of the detail. I'm really happy with how it came out and the vibe it portrays. When asked to summarize Royal Hawaiian recently this was my response. 

"Growing up in Southern California, dreams of Hawai'i always stirred iconic images like Diamond Head, The Duke Statue and of course "The Pink Palace of the Pacific" The Royal Hawaiian Hotel with its pink stucco and Spanish style architecture was where I would see pictures of all the old time movie stars, the old Waikiki beach boys and the tourists enjoying the perfect south shore days. I still love to spend time in Waikiki shooting photo's and exploring the rich history of this very special beach town in the middle of the Pacific and a little stay-cation at The Royal Hawaiian is always an extra large treat!"
