Wow, winter has begun here on The North Shore of Oahu! The past few days the temperature has dropped, the trades are back and straightened out in their wintertime deal and the swells have been blessing us a couple times a week! I love the fall/early winter season in Hawai'i, the changes in the temperatures and swell patterns and seeing friends from around the world come back for another season.
The kick off to me is always the Surfrider Foundation's annual John Kelly Awards held at Waimea Valley on the North Shore of Oahu.
You can read more about John Kelly, The Surfrider Foundation and the event by following this link here: http://ww2.surfrider.org/oahu/?p=1582
I have been deeply involved with The Surfrider Foundation for many years and am always looking for more ways to help out and I was honored to be asked to create the poster art for this years event, The 10th Annual John Kelly Environmental Awards!!
If you are on Oahu, you should really try and get to the event this Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Waimea Valley, contact for tickets is on the poster. Besides acknowledging the recipients of this prestigious award, there is great food, music and a silent auction with great local art, products and more!
Hope to see you there!
