Lover's Surf by Hawaii surf artist Heather Brown

We had a beautiful break in the windy and rainy weather yesterday and Chris and I were lucky enough to catch up with some great friends for some fun surf and great beach time!
When I first painted this piece, yesterday was the exact scene that was in my head.
You can check out "Lover's Surf" available exclusively as a wood panel print at the galleries worldwide that support my art and on my website with worldwide shipping at Heather Brown Art

Remembering 311 The Tōhoku Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan

Hard to believe it has already been 5 years since the Tōhoku Earthquake and Tsunami devastated Japan. Chris and I were scheduled to arrive in Japan about 10 days after the quake. For obvious reasons the trip was cancelled. We did go just months later and saw a very different Country than from our previous trips.
The resilience and strength of the people is amazing. As world citizens, we must always remember to show the people around us near and far the love and Aloha we hope to receive. Unfortunately tragedies (natural and man made) are a bit too common these days and we all hear about every single one with all of the news and social outlets, but remember that positivity is contagious and the laws of attraction are real. Go out today and everyday and smile, laugh, help, love and spread the ALOHA worldwide.

Wind N Sea by Heather Brown

I just heard that the shack at Wind N Sea is gone from this winters swells. Wind N Sea with the shack on the rocks always epitomized the classic days of surfing to me. Anybody know if a new one will be put back up?
I did this piece, Wind N Sea, a year ago or so and I love to look at it and bring my memories back in time. You can check it out at any of the fine galleries worldwide that support my art or also on my website here.

Girls Day by Heather Brown

Aloha and Happy Girls Day!

March 3rd is Girls Day in Hawai'i.

Hinamatsuri, or Girls' Day, takes place every March 3 and is mostly celebrated by Hawaii families of Japanese and Okinawan descent. Early Japanese immigrants first brought the holiday to the Islands.

I made this piece called Girls Day a couple of years ago and it always makes me feel good to look at it. To me it depicts the perfect day with your best friend living your dream. Tropical art to me is always soothing and brings me to a happy place, I hope it does the same for you! Mahalo and Aloha for your continued support of my surf art!
